Discord lets you customize display names, channel topics, and messages — and invisible characters are a popular way to get a clean blank name or empty-looking status. This page preselects Braille Pattern Blank (U+2800), which Discord usually keeps after you save your profile.

How to set an invisible Discord name

Open User Settings → Profiles, paste Braille Pattern Blank into Display Name, and save. For a server nickname, right-click the server → Edit Server Profile and paste there instead. Length 1 is enough for a blank-looking name on most clients.

If Discord says the name is invalid, try Hangul Filler. Zero-width-only names are more likely to fail Discord's checks than Braille Blank.

Blank Discord messages and spoiler tricks

Paste a single invisible character into a channel to send a blank message. Useful for clearing a chat bump without visible text. Moderators may still see the message exists in logs, so use it lightly.

Invisible characters also help with spacing in embeds you draft elsewhere, or in status text. Always verify with the test box on this page before pasting into a busy server.

Discord rules and accessibility

Blank names can confuse users who rely on clear labels for screen readers or moderation. Some communities ban fully invisible nicknames. Check server rules first, and prefer subtle spacing over a completely empty identity in large public servers.
